Letter from the Author #62: Looking for the Hidden Signal

Odin's picture

Dear #MarkedbyOdin, we have just passed #BlackFriday and #CyberMonday madness to face the loving Christmas holydays. This is a good time to update you about all the good things that are coming from Mark of Odin.

The Hidden Signal

Let’s start with one of the most expected matters for all of you. I want to confirm you that ‘The Hidden Signal’, third DLC for Mark of Odin: Road to Valhalla is already finished and ready for its final edition. Once you have it available it will offer you almost 56 pages of new story, with Sváva as main character.

Here you can read the official synopsis:

After detecting new indications that the NORNA Network could be compromised, Commander Sváva das Sif decides to get moving. The Borean Federation could be in grave danger and not even the powerful Order of the Valkyrie could be enough to protect her during her investigation. That is why Sváva will have to resort to old acquaintances, even if that means reopening wounds from the past, in order to unravel what is behind the mysterious hidden signal. A frantic race starts against the clock against those who have set out to stop her at any cost.

And I also want to encourage you to participate in a survey that we have created to see which image you would most like to be used on the cover of The Hidden Signal, from two preliminary proposals. Both are real and very spectacular photographs of the galaxy. You can vote your favorite on our Facebook page.

The Hidden Signal will be available before Christmas to all registered readers of The Road to Valhalla in Spanish. In the meantime, you have already been able to enjoy the story of ‘The Order of the Valkyries’ and I hope that before The Hidden Signal we can share at least another extended content. With them we will close the contents of this 2019. No worries, there are still many stories finished waiting for their turn. I hope that by 2020, if things go well, we can accelerate the production of its audiovisual materials.

On the other hand, once The Hidden Signal is published, my intention is to be able to face the final production of Mark of Odin: Ragnarok, the third book in the saga. I still cannot confirm dates, since it will depend on personal and professional external factors. My intention is to be able to get enough months to dedicate myself almost exclusively to it and that It can be ready before the end of 2020.

Meanwhile, we will continue to share more extended stories that will help us understand what is going on between The Road to Valhalla and Ragnarok. In addition, we will continue working on many other surprises, an example of this is a very special project with the Madrid singer Milena Brody, of which we will give you details in the future. In the meantime I encourage you to follow her, listen to her and see her great unboxing of her Mark of Odin books.

International expansion

We continue with the efforts to expand books and intellectual property to other languages and regions. We currently have a good number of conversations that continue forward, others that do not, and even more potential to establish. In fact, this week begins the Guadalajara International Book Fair in Mexico. It is the most important publishing event in Latin America and, although we are not going to go in person, I am making efforts to establish connections with many of the publishers that will be present.

Express Shipping

Another great news that I want to unveil is that very soon we will offer the option of express payment delivery. You know that from the beginning one of our distinctions has been not charging for shipping. We do this because we use the PostLibris Post Service, which has its advantages, but also its disadvantages. The main one of it is not being able to have any type of package tracking. And while in most cases there are no problems, it is true that some readers have had more problems than we would have liked to receive their books. Since in this case once the books have been delivered to the Post Office, we depend entirely on them for their arrival and we cannot do anything else.

That is why you have been several who have been suggesting that we offer an express delivery option, even if it was paid. And although it has taken longer than I would have liked, we have finally been able to find a solution that suited our needs and possibilities. Thus, last week we signed a contract with Envialia, which will be added to the shipping options very soon. We will announce the rates and availability by regions when we enable the option in the store.

This solution will also be of great help to us when we can do the crowdfunding campaign of Mark of Odin: Ragnarok in case we can include additional gifts to the books.

Your opinion and participation is vital

I want to take this opportunity to remind you that it is very important for us to have you in our Discord community. That's where we can have the best direct interaction with all of you. Not only that, we need you to share your impressions of books and bonus chapters in the Opinions Section, and / or on external platforms. They are crucial to convince new readers to join.

You are our best Christmas present

Needless to say, the #MarkedbyOdin are the best gift and support we can have. That is why I encourage you to continue recommending us to get more readers to join us. We need all possible support in order to focus the production of new extended content and, above all, the third book in the series. Together we will be able to face this last step of the year with the best warrior spirit!

Remember, all is connected.
